Cities Of The Underworld 2.01 “Ground Zero”
I really enjoyed the first season of this series which explored many existing subterraneon landscapes of the world dating back hundreds or thousands of years. I figured eventually they would run out of sites to explore because only so much underground archicetucure could still survive, so I was curious what the second season would tackle. In case you haven’t caught this show, it airs on the History channel and they have covered some amazing underground sites. Unfortunately when it comes to DVD releases, they decided to put each episode on its own DVD making it cost prohibitive to own so your best bet is to catch it on rerun. [Update: I was wrong about this, you can indeed get the entire first season on DVD in one set.]
Amazingly they took on one of the most challenging Cities to document, Jerusalem where they literally explore the cave of the prophet Mohammed, some of the same caves where stones were quarried to build Solomon’s Temple. They also show some amazing footage of the location where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.

I’m not sure how the rest of the season will play out, but this episode proves that there is much more underworld to explore.
